Nostalgic.

Winter break is coming to its near end (about 10 days left before a new semester starts). I just came back from getting reacquainted with an old friend from high school, I had not seen her since my birthday. We were complaining about how out winter break is going by so fast and we did not use our time off wisely. Note to future post-secondary students, when you're given free time, meaning no exams, no homework, no anything related to school attached, make the best of your damn time off! You're not gonna get many chances to chill, relax, and have fun once you're in school again.

Meeting up with my friend tonight made me think about high school again and made me remember how different it is from university. Not only was it a culture shock with the transition from grade 12 to freshman at a post-secondary institute, but your lifestyle that you were so used to in the past four years will be drastically changed. Your schedules will become unorthodox at first but will in time (shortly) become a norm in your life. The faces you once saw everyday will soon vanish from your daily routine, the hallways that you once loved to roam around in, while trying to stay out of class for as long as possible, will become a maze. Your teachers who would always call out for your name to acknowledge your existence will now be reduced to just teaching the required material for the week and most likely not give a damn about who your are, what you are, or where you're from. The classroom you usually enter will now be a hall filled with hundreds of faces unfamiliar to you. You will find yourself alone most of your free time at first, but you soon meet new people whom you are to connect and communicate with. Life after high school can be very scary, there are no more holding hands in this world, you are responsible for everything that happens to you. Pressure and stress may start to build (actually it will). Hair might be lost and weight will defiantly be gained (just look at me).

I just miss going to class with my group of friends, talking while the teacher is trying to teach. Cracking jokes at and with the teachers as well. Lunch time was time to hang out with your friends, now there is no such thing as "lunch time", you eat your lunch whenever you have time. There was also that bond that teacher built with their students in high school that is evidently non-existent in post-secondary. Teachers would actually care if their students would actually care if a student did not show up to class (like my economics teacher), while professors would not even notice or care (due to the obvious large class sizes, but still you know what I mean). I just miss being a "kid" you know? My brother is in grade 9 now and I hope to god seriously that he has a better time in high school than I did (especially with the trench you call a high school that I went to). The one teacher that I was really cohesive with was my accounting teacher, Mr. Patel. That dude got along with every kid, even the ones with rough edges. How could anybody hate or hold grudges against him? He's the coolest teacher of all time. His class was the only one where i always stayed awake in (mostly because it was a small class and he constantly kept my awake). He also takes his time to get to know his students and ask about them. Real good teacher, I miss him. I should pay him a visit soon.

I'll rant that much for now, I know there more I wanted to say but I just can't generate them into words as of now. PEACE.

Overdue.

Overdue indeed. It has certainly been a while since I have last made an entry to my prestigious blog. What's good y'all? I'm about into my second week of winter break (I think, I lost track of time since my last exam) and so far I've not done much :( . But I did spend a lot, two days ago I paid off my Visa, only to use again to pay off my remaining balance due to Long & McQuade. I would then later buy another amplifier (trading in my old one). Things went sour yesterday as the amp would break down on me during the middle of my jam session (alone), this really bummed me out as my day started off really well and swell. My dad (of all people) took me and my brother shopping! We went to Vaughn Mills. I got myself 3 items, a cardigan sweater, button-up shirt, and pants. Finally got around to getting a new outfit. It was really nice and rare of my father to be so generous, fishy no? Who cares it's the holidays no time to be bummy true?

So after the tragic Sunday, this morning as I woke up I showered instantly and took my amp and headed straight to Long & McQuade. I was skeptical because I had lost my receipt but this was no problem (fortunately for me). They had my record of purchases and transactions in their database, plus the employee who helped me on the day I bought the amp remembered me and helped me again as well today (cool guy I must add, very nice). He said I can exchange it for the same model or use it as trade in credit towards another amp, which I did. This time I was fed up and went on to try a more powerful amp the Fender RUMBLE 60.

This amp is pretty nice and it'll be strong enough to handle small gigs in case I'm ever in a band. I love it so far. Has not disappointed me yet. Warm tones, no distortion, just nice fat/clean sound.

I recently found out that my GPA is 3.30, which is OKAY accounting for the fact that it's over the required 3.0 GPA needed to be applicable for co-op next year, but not yet enough for me to continue getting my scholarship (80%), so that means I gotta work my ass off next semester, which seems possible since I got Mondays off, the day I'll do unfinished homework and studying (if needed). The grades I got in my classes are pretty random, I got A- in Accounting (which is probably the hardest course of the 5 this semester) and in Management (which was somewhat of a joke). And the rest I ended up getting B's =/.

Don't you just hate driving in the snow? Last Friday I was booked to work all day and that was the day with the huge ass snow storm! I called in the morning telling my manager that I might be late, hoping that he'd go "Don't worry just stay home", instead he just said "Don't worry." Seriously, I've never driven so slow before but this was good because I did not want to die in snow. Driving 20 km per hour has its benefits, especially if the road is filled with the worst drivers ever (Woodbridge drivers). Such a waste that day, I was surprised people even came out to eat at a time like that! People are crazy, I tell ya. If I was home and I see that the world outside my territory was a blizzard, I'd close the door and go back to bed.

Anymore to say? Well this week I'm working on Christmas eve, Friday, and Saturday. Tomorrow I think I'm finally going out with old friends. Yeah, not much to say now lol.

Happy Holidays!

About time...

A week in to December and things finally got done, about time! Though these things probably have low priorities in relation to things that are on my plate as of late (exams), I thought that they would be worth mentioning, for my sake of course (who cares about you? I kid :) ) So lets list them show we?

About time I got a web cam; I bought one yesterday for $19.99. It's like some no name brand, but what ever a web cam is a web cam, I have no need for a $100 web cam. Speaking of prices, does anybody notice all these web cams that cost $100 and up? it's ridiculous!

About time I bought RAM for my desktop machine; along with the web cam I purchased I also bought 512 MB DDR RAM running at 400 Mhz for my computer. I really needed this little boost because my machine was slowly eating it self up.

About time I brought home a guitar stand; I know, I've been playing the instrument for about over a year and a half and I never had a guitar stand. Usually I'd just leave them on my bed or the floor, or my chair, those WERE my guitar stands at the time. Funny thing though, there's about 5 guitars in my house and the stand I bought only holds three, meaning I'm still lacking necessities for my instrument.

About time I got mini guitar cables to connect my effect pedals together; I bought these little colourful babies when I went to drop my brother off at this music school for his weekly lesson.

*This next one is a big one for me personally*

ABOUT TIME MY ORDER FROM CD JAPAN CAME IN; On Friday morning, after my workout (playing the bass guitar) for an hour or so, I walked out in my boxers to check the mail box. Little did a I know that significantly larger than envelope mail cardboard box was stuff in my inbox! As I rushed and saw the tape with a Canada Post stamp on it, I knew it was what I've been waiting almost 2 months for! AT LAST I FINALLY GOT MY HANDS ON ART-SCHOOL'S TWO LATEST RECORDS! ILLMATIC BABY mini-album, and Ghosts & Angels; ART-SCHOOL Best Songs compilation. This truly made my day, it did really! Though the new mini-album kind have disappointing me sorta, I liked half the album basically. But I guess every band/artist has to switch it up, I was hoping to hear some sound that would make me feel nostalgic about ART-SCHOOL's earlier works.

About time I got a real synthesizer pedal for my bass guitar; today after my brother performed at some Christmas event (held by his music school), we went to this small guitar shop in Thornhill. There I tried out this bass synthesizer pedal by Ibanez. I had saw this pedal the day before when I went there to buy the stand, but it was Ibanez and I was too hyped up in BOSS products. When I was home, I searched up that pedal and listened to some samples. I had to admit it wasn't, but actually good! So today I had to go there and buy it, even if it meant being broke AGAIN. Along with the pedal I bought this cool mini amp with a built-in tuner for my brother!

Lastly,

About time I started reading for my sociology class; so far I've been trying to catch up on 10 chapters that I missed reading on for that class. Since it's my first exam this week, I figured I should get that one over with, even though I got bigger fish to fry. I plan on going to the library tomorrow to study for other courses.

That is it for today! Peace and kudos to all the people in world! BE BREEZY!

Shake well before serving. Procastination pt. 2

"Shake Well" it says, well okay sure. Anything to get the best out of the beverage I am about to take in. Man, I had all day off and I did not even study! Even worse, I just took a nap! I'm like a procrastinator at heart, I do so subconsciously. Who here, besides me, enjoys a Nutella sandwich with some milk on the side? For this case I got myself bottle of french vanilla milk. Honestly it just tasted like melted vanilla ice cream lol. It's probably going to be a short entry for today, but whatever.

So as I was playing around with the chords used in the song "Hey Julie", I ended up creating my own song by altering the chords a bit, arranging some stuff here and there, BAM a song was created. I'm not fnished with it yet, but I see this song becoming a great work of mine. I've been hoping I'd hoping to making song that sounds like that, it reminds me of "Pool" by ART-SCHOOL.

Tomorrow I have a day off too, so I have to make use of tomorrow. Not only should I study for MGT, but start studying for my other exams too! The last time I left studying last minute for exams, I failed both my math exams in grade, yikes.

Procastination?

It is 1:46 according to my task bar and I've been trying to write down the key notes from each lesson from my MGT200 class. That way I won't have to read off a computer screen to study. But this is taking longer than I had expected T.T

Today I met up with a buddy for a day of hanging out downtown. We started off our time by going to Ryerson so I can print and hand in that damn 12 page assignment, I don't see the reason in making students send in the report electronically and making them come to school to hand in a hard copy, seriously not convenient at all! So after Ryerson, we headed straight to Queen St. W, where I hastily went straight to Steve's Music Store. As I got there I went straight to the guitar section in search for any Fender Jazzmaster available. I ended up playing an American made one, with sunburst paint job, man it such a beautiful guitar. Even better that it had such a sweet sound, I loved it! I felt a connection with it, too bad it was $1000 =\ The guy who was helping me was like in love with that guitar and actually taught me a few things or two about the model. He said that it was his favourite guitar and little did you know (my friend pointed this out) on the back of the price tag it said "Best guitar ever." I can only wonder who wrote that...

So after playing for countless minutes, the guy kind have told me to stop playing in a indirect way LOL. But my time at the store was not done, as I was in search for an effect pedal for my bass. I tried out the Boss Bass OverDrive pedal and it was sickkkk, I bought that shit right away. Now I am broke and owe my credit card at lesat $200... Well worth it.

Afterwards, me and my buddy had lunch at Korean Grill House. It was really empty! Me and him were the only ones there. Sadly we did not pig out as much this time around maybe it was because of the boring atmosphere cause by a vacant restaurant. My friend went to the art store afterwards to buy some art supplies, I swear everytime I'm in that store I find it hard to breathe.

And that was the end of our day, we both headed home to call it a day. There you go!
